Basant Panchami 2024

Saraswati Puja, also known as Vasant/Basant Panchami or Shri Panchami, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the spring and the arrival of Holi. It is celebrated on the first day of spring, the fifth day of Magha, and the festival has a long history and tradition of celebrating with flowers and food.

For the first time OSCAA introduced Basant Panchami into the event list. Alongside indulging in delicious food, we also planned some activities and cultural programs like bhajan singing and Painting/Crafting etc. Proper Odia Style prasad was prepared by cook.

OSCAA celebrated on February 17th, 2024 at Scandinavian Centre, 739 20 Ave NW, Calgary.

“KHADI CHHUAN” - A ritual known as Khadi-Chuan or Vidya Arambha was also organised when young kids start learning.
