Ganesh Chaturthi-2023

Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival that celebrates the rebirth of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed God who brings prosperity and wisdom. This festival is observed on the fourth day of the Bhadrapada month, as per the Hindu lunar calendar, and usually falls between August and September in the English calendar.

For the first time OSCAA introduced Ganesh Chaturthi into the event list. Alongside indulging in delicious food, we also planned some activities and cultural programs like bhajan singing and Ganesh Painting/Crafting etc.

OSCAA celebrated on September 23rd, 2023 at Scarboro Community Association, 1737 14 Ave SW, Calgary.

Food was purely home cooked vegetarian (no garlic & onion) food.

“KHADI CHHUAN” - A ritual known as Khadi-Chuan or Vidya Arambha was also organised when young kids start learning.
