OPL-2023

A throw back at the first ever "Odia Premier League" for our community, it’s only fitting that we take a moment to reminisce about the spectacular success of the previous OPL event hosted at Calgary Rotary Challenger Park Society on May 13, 2023. The event left an unforgettable memory for all Odias in Calgary, and everyone geared up with more excitement for the next Odia Premier League.

A Day of Thrilling Matches and Sportsmanship

The day was filled with thrilling cricket matches that brought together teams from our community and showcased their talent. From nail-biting finishes to extraordinary performances, the competition was fierce, yet the sportsmanship on display was heartwarming. It was a day when friendships were made on and off the field.

Diverse Participation

One of the highlights of the previous event was the diverse participation. We were delighted to see participants from all age groups, including kids who showed immense enthusiasm in volunteering the execution of event and show casing their great skills with commentary. This diversity reflects the inclusive nature of the event and our commitment to promoting the togetherness throughout our community.

Family Fun Zone

Family Fun Zone volunteered by our elegant Odia ladies was a hub of excitement, filled with laughter and joy. Families and kids enjoyed a range of activities and, of course, delicious food and drinks sponsored by few of our enthusiastic OSCAA members without whom the event would not have been a this big successful. It was a space where the community came together not only to celebrate cricket but also to enjoy each other's company.

Art of Giving

Beyond the cricket matches and clinics, the event emphasized the importance of Art of Giving. Art of Giving is all about creating an unconditional and sustainable abundance of love, peace and happiness and contentment for others through gestures of kindness and generosity. It was founded by Shri Achyuta Samanta on 17 May 2013. OSCAA is honored to have Shri Achyuta Samanta to initiate the Art of Giving in Calgary for a Blind School.
